Privacy Policy

Written to be read, not just filed. Naimap's privacy stance is an architectural fact, not a promise.

Last updated: January 2026 · Applies to Naimap 1.0 and later

Summary

Naimap is designed so that there is almost nothing to say in a privacy policy — and that's deliberate. Naimap does not collect, transmit, or store your data anywhere except on your own device. There is no account, no analytics SDK, no advertising network, and no server that Naimap talks to. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.

Data we collect

None. Naimap collects no personal data, no usage data, and no device identifiers. We — the developers — have no way to see your maps, your notes, or how you use the app, because nothing is ever sent to us.

Local storage only

Every mind map, node, note, link, tag, and attachment you create is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage frameworks. Nothing is uploaded to a server we operate, because Naimap doesn't operate a server. If you delete the app, your local data is removed along with it — we strongly recommend using Naimap's own export features (PNG, PDF, JSON, or Draw.io) to keep your own backups.

No account required

Naimap never asks you to sign in, register, or create a profile. There is no username, password, or email address associated with using the app.

No tracking or analytics

Naimap includes no analytics libraries, no crash-reporting SDKs that transmit data off-device, and no behavioral tracking of any kind. We do not know how many times you've opened the app, which features you use, or how long you spend in it.

No advertising

Naimap has no ad network integration. You will never see an advertisement inside the app, and no advertising identifier is ever read or transmitted.

Third-party data sharing

Because Naimap collects no data, there is no data to share with third parties. The only third parties involved in your use of Naimap are:

  • Apple, for App Store distribution and in-app purchase processing (governed by Apple's own privacy policy);
  • Services you choose to use when sharing an export — for example, if you use the system share sheet to send a PDF via Mail or save a file to a third-party Files provider, that transfer is between you and the destination you picked, not something Naimap initiates or observes.

Photos, videos & documents

When you attach a photo, video, or document to a node, Naimap copies it into its own local storage on your device, with your explicit permission via the system picker. These files are never uploaded anywhere by Naimap.

Purchases

Naimap Pro is sold as a one-time, Lifetime in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Naimap does not receive your payment details — Apple handles billing according to its own privacy and payment terms.

Children's privacy

Because Naimap collects no personal information from any user, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Naimap is generally suitable for all ages given its offline, account-free design.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version introduces an optional, clearly-disclosed feature like iCloud sync — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. We will never silently expand data collection without updating this page first.
